Bear with me, I have no idea what Im talking about here...

So I would like to get a driving game for PS3. Here are my requirements:

Free roam options

Not super expensive

preferrably something I can just pick a car and drive around

PSN compatible

Basically, I dont have any time to play a game for hours and hours just to be able to free roam, but Id like to join some of you Oppos once in a while. Im not getting a wheel or anything like that, but Im wondering if anything fits the bill.

Now that Im graduating college, I may have more time to play these, but in the event I dont, I want to keep it on the cheaper side. I dont expect $5, but over $50 is a hard sell unless its what Im looking for. It took me like 11 months to get the motivation the complete Borderlands 2. Dont expect me to just sit down and play a game for several weeks just to be able to free roam. I dont usually find any motivation for video games, but I might be able to free roam or join an online race without intense coersion. I am disgustingly good at FPS games, but I just cant find the motivation usually. I sneak around, I snipe, I move. At least my girlfiend who is a gamer tells me Im really good...

Anyway, suggestions welcome. The Magnum has budget priority, but once its ready, a game can be okay.

If you want free roam and easy pick up and play GTA will probably work. Pretty social online too. Should've dropped in price by now.

I just cant get behind GTA. Im looking more for just driving around tracks, than going bonkers around a city.

I'm not sure then I have gt6 and that takes a while to get enough money for a few good cars and depending on skill level it can take some practice for some races. Nfs mw was good for free roam and all cars are available to find instantly, not sure how good the online community is now though.

My computer isnt really for games, just production work...its fast, and capable, but I would rather use the console I dropped the coin on...

Need For Speed World.

Live For Speed Demo (Which gets you 2 cars and a open wheel. 1 track. Online racing, drifting, legal cruise, drag etc...) My favorite and it's light on computer!

Racer Free car simulator another favorite if you know what you're doing.

Well, I can look into it and see if I like them. I was just looking to join Oppo on some games. The other thing with PC games for me is that web content is really slow (I have pretty bad internet. PSN seems to work pretty well though, the traffic gets priority in my router. It's also the only console I have.

My girlfriend was playing one FPS but I don't know the name of it. I wasn't really interested at the time, but I'm sure tempted to try it out after my finals are over.

Know anything about the Forza set? Is that just like Gran Tourismo, or more free-roam oriented...Multiplayer is a bonus so I can get my girlfriend to play something a little more down my alley compared to ibb and obb, or little big planet...
